New Planning Application and Update

NEW PLANNING APPLICATION AND UPDATEWe have submitted a Planning Application to amend the original riverside route which was approved in June 2013.At the Lewes end an additional section will extend the route from Ham Lane, across the field well-known as the site for the Cliffe Bonfire, and continue through the Railway Land Nature Reserve to finish at the Linklater Pavilion.At the Newhaven end, the Egrets Way will go through Riverside Park and the recently enhanced wildlife area and then run…See More

New EW signs

‘On Saturday 18th November, Chairman Neville Harrison and committee member John Parry put up signs at the Northern start of the Egrets Way in Ham Lane as well as a reminder to cyclists at the current end of this section that permission is not granted to ride a bicycle along the top of the flood bank. The EW Committee continues to work at securing the funds necessary to join up the existing sections of the Egrets way that have already been completed.  Similar notices have also been erected at…See More

A Welcome addition to the Egrets Way

Following on from the planning approval for holiday Lodges at Swanborough Lakes is a proposal to create new off-road multi-user paths which, going east, will connect the lodges to the Egrets Way at Spring Barn Farm, and going to the west, to the South Downs Way via Swanborough village.

Trails group planning is progressing well following our wonderful Ouse valley walks, support for our network of shared walking and cycling trails proposal was recently offered by Norman Baker and the meeting with ESCC Economics, Transport and Environment Dept people today went very well... so far so good... but there is a lot of work ahead... Luckily we have a great team who are up for this challenge!
