Cockshut Lane Planning Application Refused

I've just heard some very good news from the Kingston Road and Cranedown Residents Association:

LDC Planning Committee have refused the application for vehicle use of the Cockshut Lane section of the Egrets Way.

Thanks to all the objections from people throughout the Ouse valley and the speakers at the meeting today:

Kingston Parish Council: Tony Wheeler

Cycle Lewes: Simon Giddey

KRCRA: Jonathan Brown

LDC: Ruth O'Keeffe

ESCC Rights of Way are apparently very close to formalising the designation of Cockshut Lane as a bridleway which should ensure that the route will be a safe place to cycle, walk or ride a horse in future.  We will keep you posted...

Best wishes,

Susan Thompson.

I understand that Orange bade will be appealing the decision. Does the Egrets Way steering group have a plan of action should this happen?
